Shielded Metal Arc
Welding (SMAW) -
ARC Welding 6GR
Duration:6 Months
Objective:
With this course a student attains the expertise to produce quality single V groove welding on 6" diameter schedule 80 mild steel pipe 10mm thick in the 6GR position. Work quality of a student is determined through meticulous inspection and mechanical testing in tune to ASME requirements. This systematic training actually sharpen the skills of a welder. At the end of the course students will attain the experience for pressure vessel and nuclear piping fields. It ultimately gives a thorough understanding of pipe welding, welding quality, uphill pipe procedure, preheating and inter pass treatments. This course adds to the skills to produce quality in Multi pass welding on 6" diameter schedule 80 mild steel pipe in the 6GR position using E6013, E 6010 and E 7018 electrodes.
